Lacks Of Teaching Preparation
The teachers were great and the price was reasonable. I really enjoyed the Zoom classes. But compared to other yoga teacher trainings, this one didn’t prepare me to actually start teaching. It felt more like a program to deepen your personal practice, not a full teacher training. If you're looking to learn more about yoga, it works—but if your goal is to teach, it's not enough.
Materials Could Be More Modern
I bought the RYT200 course but decided it wasn’t a good fit after just an hour of reviewing the materials. I emailed for a refund, and they processed it in full (including the 20% tax) within 24 hours. A suggestion for improvement: the reading font, Times New Roman, feels outdated. It would be better to use something more modern and easier on the eyes. Also, many documents don’t allow for a dark mode with white text, which makes it hard to read online for long periods. While the materials are clearly well thought out, they didn’t look as polished as the website or brand style.
Lack of Clarity and Formatting Issues
I found parts of the course confusing, especially around which videos were required. The anatomy videos were marked as part of advanced courses, but I still had to watch them to move forward, which was unclear. There were also inconsistencies between the website and the manual — some wording was missing or repeated, and the formatting felt unpolished. For the final sequencing assessment, the exemplars didn’t line up with the instructions. We were told to submit a “word-for-word” sequence, but the examples didn’t reflect that, so I wasn’t sure how detailed my submission needed to be. Overall, the content felt repetitive at times. A more streamlined and clearly organized presentation would really improve the experience.
Helpful Program But Misleading Info
YogaRenew offers a great variety of instructors with different areas of expertise, which really helps create a well-rounded learning experience. I appreciate being able to go through the classes at my own pace, especially with my busy schedule as a mom of two. My main issue is that after being in the program for a year, I found out that 45 Zoom calls I had to complete weren’t clearly explained to be live in order to apply for Yoga Alliance RYT status. This wasn’t mentioned upfront, and now I’m left trying to fit live sessions into my already packed schedule. Just a heads up—if you start this course, recordings won’t count toward your RYT status. I'm really disappointed by this.
Unprofessional and Not Unique
I don’t recommend this program. The resources they provide aren’t exclusive—you can easily find the same information elsewhere. There were also frequent spelling errors, which made it feel rushed and unprofessional. Overall, I’m disappointed. For the price, I expected something more polished and original. Honestly, I could have pulled together the same content myself for free.
I was really happy with the program at first, but had to pause for a few months because of work. When I came back, I found I was locked out of my account. Despite multiple attempts to get it resolved, I’m still unable to access it. They’ve said they’re working on it, but nothing’s changed. I also asked to speak with someone on the phone, but was told that isn’t an efficient way to handle the issue—which felt pretty dismissive. Honestly, I’m really disappointed. I’ve put money into a program I can’t even use, and at this point, I’d just like a refund.
Misleading Promo and Poor Customer Service
I was deciding between two yoga courses and ultimately chose YogaRenew because of the following promo: Enroll in our 200-hour online yoga teacher training for $367... now through Tuesday, march 11th, you can save an EXTRA $70 off with the promo code COMMIT70. However, after a frustrating back-and-forth with customer service (who clearly weren’t reading my emails), I was eventually told that this was a typo and that only one promo could be applied. This felt dishonest—if it was truly a mistake, they should have honored the offer anyway. The whole experience came across as sketchy and unhelpful.
I have tried to Log In for several weeks now and I always get an error message. I contacted through email Yoga renew with absolutely no response.
it was just a bit lengthy
I'll shoulder the bulk of the blame for this of course. It seemed like there was an abundance of irrelevant information within the overall course. The information was good to be able to access, but was is not essential to achieve the objective of teaching. It seems to me that the 200 YTT can be split into two different certificate programs. First, to help you start to get "boots on the ground" followed by a deeper exploration of Sanskrit as well as history within a higher level of course. This didn't help with my delay that the instructor and platform changed three times in the time I was in the course. It slowed me down. However, I believe it could be reduced or condensed. I spent two years trying to complete this project and it was just a bit lengthy. At the end of the day, I'm happy that I completed it, and I now have my diploma.
It was too exaggerated
I bought the mindfulness program and I was less than satisfied. It was a good thing that the presentation was professional-looking with good quality video and audio.Bad things - I found that a lot of the information as being very basic. This might be beneficial to a beginner, but I wanted something that was more complex. Also, the presenter appears to read out a script that I found to be boring. It was too exaggerated with very little actual substance.
I am so bummed
Ah, my god! I believe I might have been scammed. I attempted to register to take the 200-hour Yoga instruction. My credit card was debited and I received an email with the subject line "Access Course", then .... Nothing. It's just a matter of making an account, repeatedly and then being instructed to sign-up yet. I am so bummed.
not a safe environment
The place you are in is racist .... for the duration... jk.These live classes are not a safe environment for individuals, however when you're white or appear white, you can discover a large number of other people with the same backgrounds. For me, a person of color I had a horrible moment and i'm posting this to inform the public about this. ...... DO NOT STEAL YOUR money.
I'm very unhappy with the results
When I requested a full refund according to the 30 days guarantee on money back (I believe that I'd prefer the course in my zone of time since I won't be able to participate in the live courses) I've contacted the customer service department three times with no reply. Following the review on the site, I was convinced it was likely that Yoga Renew would be a good investment but I'm very unhappy with the results.
I wouldn't recommend this program
I wouldn't recommend this program. There were no unique resources for the program, and could have been found across numerous platforms. Numerous spelling errors were found all through the program because it was not enough time to properly prepare the program. I'm dissatisfied with the entire program because I think I could have made this program from scratch using a variety of sources, and without spending for the price.
