Denied Every Claim
Every claim Iโve submitted has been denied. Theyโve asked for medical records for at least one year, even though my dog isnโt even a year old. Iโve submitted other claims, but they were denied as pre-existing conditions. Even after providing more information, the claims were still rejected. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICEโyouโll just be paying for insurance with no coverage when you need it.
No Help in My Catโs Emergency
Very disappointed. I paid for the accident and injury policy for nearly two years, thinking Iโd have support if something serious happened. When my cat got sick and needed real help, the insurance was basically useless. He was diagnosed with diabetes, and later developed unrelated and serious issuesโan eye problem and a hole in his throat, all within weeks. I submitted two separate claims and both were denied with vague, unhelpful explanations. The vet hospital didnโt offer much support either. In the end, I had to put my cat down due to the rapid decline in his health. After all that, the insurance gave me nothing back, despite the policy supposedly covering accidents and injuries. If you're looking for peace of mind or real financial help during a pet emergency, I wouldn't count on this provider.
Delayed Reimbursement
Spot Pet Insurance has taken over 2 months to reimburse us for a neuter surgery. Despite multiple interactions with their outsourced customer service, we still haven't received a check. We provided bank info for a direct deposit, but they couldnโt deposit the money for some reason. They claimed to have mailed a check instead, but after a month, we still haven't received it. When we called, they said they can't try a re-deposit and can only mail it. Weโve had a terrible experience and will be switching to a different insurer for our healthy pet.
Complete Scam and Waste of Money
I had a terrible experience with Spot Pet Insurance. I adopted a Golden Retriever in July 2024 and bought their "Accident Only" plan. I made sure to pay on time and waited through all the necessary waiting periods. Fast forward to March 2025โmy dog slipped on wet grass in the backyard after his morning walk. By the afternoon, he couldnโt stand or walk, so we rushed him to the emergency vet. He received radiographs, pain meds, and anti-inflammatory treatment. We submitted a claim, but it was denied because we didnโt provide an โexact and specific timeโ of the incident. We appealed, sending in all of his medical records again (which weโd already submitted when applying), but the appeal was also denied. Itโs clear this company is just out to take your money and not provide any real support when you need it. Be cautious before choosing them for your pet.
Worst Insurance Experience
Worst insurance company ever. Do not use them. They refuse to approve legitimate claims that are clearly covered by their policy. I spent an hour on the phone with customer service, and they confirmed that my dog was fully covered for a dental cleaning. Yet, the claim was still denied. The service was unprofessional, and no one was helpful. They claimed they contacted the vet office, but that wasnโt true. Even when I provided the necessary documentation, my claim was still denied. Iโm out $1500 and extremely disappointed.
Disappointing Experience
The experience with Spot Pet Insurance has been incredibly frustrating. I submitted a claim for my dogโs surgery on February 10, 2025, and nearly a month later, I am still waiting for reimbursement. Iโve sent all the required medical records multiple timesโfirst through my vet (VCA Natomas Animal Medical Center on March 5) and then directly on March 10. Despite this, they continue to ask for the same information, unnecessarily prolonging the process. Whatโs even more aggravating is that they had no issue increasing my premium right after I filed the claim, yet when it comes to paying out the reimbursement, they keep delaying and making things difficult. This company claims to be honest and reliable, but my experience has been the complete opposite.
