Poor Communication and Lost Deposit
We had a bad experience with Rocky Mountain Getaways. We rented a place in Breckenridge and clearly discussed a $1,000 security deposit with their agent, Tench. I was told the deposit would be refunded after our trip. But once we got back, they claimed there was no deposit at all. They sent a contract with no clear breakdown of any charges, and now we can't get our money back. Be very careful dealing with them.
We were really disappointed with our rep, Derek, whom weโve worked with twice before. This time, he was unprofessional, combative, and had a major attitude problem. We managed to get a better hotel rate by calling the Mammoth company directly, and while Derek eventually matched it and offered a slightly better price, he clearly resented doing so. When we asked if we could shorten our stay by one day, he was unhelpful and told us he couldnโt be bothered. We ended up getting a partial refund on our own after making several calls. Just to note, we rarely write negative reviews, but the poor customer service was too much to ignore. However, within 24 hours of submitting our review, we received a call from the company owner. She was very apologetic and embarrassed by Derekโs behavior. She acted professionally and showed genuine concern for our experience, which we appreciated. Because of her response, we would consider using Rocky Mountain Getaways again for future ski trips.
Great Service and Effective Communication
Email response times could be faster, but texting worked much better for communication. There was a mix-up, and a voicemail was missed, but once we notified our agent, she called to resolve the issue. It was clear that Holli genuinely cares about her clients and wanted to make things right. I appreciated her local knowledge and her effort to meet our needs.
No Help, No Refund, Just Lost Money
We booked a ski trip through Rocky Mountain Getaway that never happened due to our flight from Chicago being canceled because of weather. There were no available flights to Denver for five daysโwhich made the trip pointless, as it was only six days long. The most frustrating part was the agency's complete lack of flexibility or support. We didn't purchase the $500 insurance, but we didn't expect them to be this rigid. We asked if they could at least waive the cost of the car rental and lift tickets we never used. Nopeโnothing. After three days stuck at the airport, lost luggage, and thousands lost on lodging, they still wouldn't help us out in any way. No refund, no credit, no understanding. Just a flat โwe canโt do anything.โ Very disappointing experience.
Extremely Disappointing Experience
I will NEVER use this company again! Rocky Mountain has offered no compensation, no empathy, and no compassion for the inconveniences my family has endured. Not only have we been ignored and overcharged by the ski school, but we've also lost two days of skiing and two days in the condo. Personally, Iโm unable to ski because I donโt have a usable credit card, all thanks to their complete mess-up with the confirmation numbers. These were businesses your company recommended. We were supposed to arrive on March 17th, but didnโt get in until the morning of March 18th. I will never use Rocky Mountain Getaways again, and I will never recommend it to any family or friends.
