Wasted Trip Due to Bad Info
Their website says theyโre open until 4 PM on Saturdays, so I stopped by at 1:45 PMโplace was locked. Rang the doorbell, and someone eventually came out just to tell me Saturdays are by appointment only. Complete waste of time. With so many travel agencies out there (not to mention the internet), this kind of service just doesnโt cut it.
Bad Customer Service
Iโm getting frustrated with Pavlus. We used to receive 12% of the cruise base fare as an onboard credit (OBC) when booking with them, but now the OBC amount varies depending on the agentโs decision, and itโs been consistently lower over the past year. We usually book our trips ourselves and then transfer the booking to Pavlus, which doesnโt require as much work from the agent as starting from scratch. Since we travel often, this has become really frustrating. I contacted guest services, but they couldnโt give me a clear answer on the percentage and just sent me back to my agent, whoโs never available. Iโll try calling for another agent, but if this issue doesnโt get resolved, we may consider booking elsewhere in the future.
Absolutely terrible experience. There was zero communication from our travel agent about flight changes and cancellations, which caused us to miss our honeymoon flights. We were overseas when our flights were changed, and we had no notice. We showed up at the airport with all our bags only to find the plane had already left two hours earlier. The day before we were supposed to return home, we got a notice from our hotel saying the flight Pavlus booked didnโt even exist. After several calls, we finally spoke to a representative who tried to help but claimed it wasnโt Pavlusโs fault. Before the honeymoon, we also gave them a chance to book business travel for us. There was a major miscommunication about what constitutes a five-star hotel, and our requests for accommodations were ignored. We had to book everything ourselves. I will never use them again and will gladly warn others. Thanks to Sarah Schwab and the team for completely ruining our trip. I hope you all get the same experience with Pavlus Travel on your next tripโitโs what you deserve.
Poor Support and Unresolved Issues
The support staff is awful. They sent incorrect information to the airline, which cost me $350 to fix. They blamed me for not checking, but I couldnโt access the cruise website because the agency gave the wrong details. I sent three emails asking for help, but never received a response. When we got our airline tickets, we were seated together as requested, but after a canceled flight, I called for emergency help, only to be on hold for 10 minutes and told they couldnโt assist. They also promised cruise credits, which we never received. I thought travel agencies were supposed to help, but this experience showed a complete lack of care for their customers.
Group Trip Messed Up from Start to Finish
I wonโt be using Pavlus again. We had a group of 10 people who wanted to travel together, but Pavlus ended up giving us three completely different flight itineraries. The whole point was to fly as a group. They only booked flights through major airports, even though I couldโve flown from a smaller airport 10 minutes from home, on the same airline, for the same price. They also routed us through Newarkโwhich anyone who travels knows is one of the worst airports to enter the U.S. through. We were never told weโd have to pay extra to select seatsโended up costing $160. Because of that, we were stuck in the last row on all five flights. Other agencies at least try to get decent seats for their customers. It also took them five days to respond when I tried to finalize our river cruise. By the time they got back to me, the rest of the group had the Silver alcohol packageโwe didnโt. To top it off, neither of the Pavlus reps could tell me our airline confirmation number or even confirm which website I should use to check inโUnited or Lufthansa. Not impressed at all.
Booking Mistakes and No Accountability
I booked a cruise for april 2025 through this agent based on 2024 prices, but they made several mistakes. The rate was calculated using the minimum fare rather than the price for the room I selected. On top of that, the rate was based on USD pricing, but my confirmation incorrectly stated it was in CAD. When the 2025 prices were released, the cost shot up by 70%! When I asked for an explanation, the only response I got was that the actual cost would be based on 2025 prices. The agent refused to investigate any further.
Our trip was wonderful on our trip to Ireland
Our trip was wonderful on our trip to Ireland. Our tour leader was extremely well-informed and we learnt a lot! My only complaint was the many activities within an order, and then there was almost no activity until the final event. It would have been nice to have seen things spread out slightly more. However, the rest of the experience was great!
We had booked for an Alaskan Tour through Pavlus just prior to COVID. The tour was canceled and moved it to next summer. We've been calling and emailing for a while now to reserve our flights and pay the final payment on our trip. We were recently told by the management that they would ensure sure we got our agent to follow up. It was about a week back. The last time we used this company for holiday and travel demands. Update: Company reached out after my review of one star to correct the problem. I've updated my review to two stars, and will keep updating as I go. I'm hopeful that they can transform this issue into something positive.
so awful
I haven't heard anything from the mail in the time stated, and I'm still waiting. On our next cruise we booked were given a poor room, with only half a window; if you choose to refer to it as on a river cruise, there are plenty of things to see as you travel, but there aren't any rooms with that kind of view. You're a sham! If you're taking a cruise on the sea, having nothing you can look at other than the wa isn't so awful.
