I used to be a regular customer at Mountain Rose Herbs, but I stopped ordering when they switched to FedEx-only shipping. I checked again yesterdayโ$30 worth of spices, and the lowest shipping cost was $75. I emailed to ask if they could use another method, but they said FedEx is the only option. Not only is that way too expensive, but last year FedEx wasnโt even delivering in my area for months. So even if I was willing to pay the outrageous fee, I couldnโt get my order. No other company I buy from limits shipping like this. Most offer at least one alternative.
I'm disappointed with the recent quality and packaging of your products. As a former frequent customer, I've noticed a clear decline. The organic soap pod powder I received had solid chunks of powder stuck at the bottomโlikely due to excess moisture during packaging, which shouldnโt be happening. This has been an ongoing issue, and unless I see clear improvement, Iโll be ordering less frequently going forward.

However, the experience was disappointing. It felt like they took her money and just dropped shipped random items to me. The products werenโt consistentโtwo identical essential oils, but one had a protective dropper and the other didnโt. I donโt mind changes in packaging, but sending mismatched items in the same order made it seem like I was getting leftovers. It felt wrong, and Iโll never order from this company again.
The product itself is fine, but the shipping time is way too longโit almost feels like ordering from overseas. After I learned about how your company handles orders, I realized itโs not worth waiting that long when there are other companies, like Plant Therapy and Edens Garden, that offer similar products with faster shipping.
Unreliable Shipping
I ended up canceling my order because I didnโt hear anything about shipping for several days. When I reached out, I was told my order wasnโt even scheduled to ship until the middle of next week. I decided to place a new order with Monterey Bay instead, and I had a much better experience. My herbs arrived within a few days, and their communication was excellent.
False Advertising and Poor Customer Service
I ordered some Rooibos tea, expecting at least a pound of it. The page listed 1 pound for eight dollars, so I ordered three. When they arrived, the tea was in 4-ounce cans. I contacted them to explain what happened and told them I wanted 1 pound, not just 4 ounces for eight dollars. A representative replied, offering a refund for the tea but said I would have to pay for return shipping. However, they offered me a $10 credit for future purchases and even sent me an example of the page showing 1 pound of Rooibos tea for eight dollars. After this deception, I no longer wanted to make any more purchases, so I asked for a full refund, including the shipping. I never heard back. I would be cautious and recommend avoiding this company because this is a clear example of false advertising.
