Misleading Insurance Coverage
I bought a package from your site that promised full insurance coverage. But when I got to the Alamo counter, they said I only had partial coverage. They also told me the insurance was through a separate company, not Alamo, so if something happened, I’d have to contact ibookacar directly.
Dirty Car and Unfriendly Service
The staff member at the Salt Lake City airport counter wasn’t particularly friendly, but he was efficient. The car (Chevy Traverse) drove well, but it was clearly not cleaned before pickup—there were sunflower seeds in a back cupholder and the inside of the windshield was smeared, making visibility difficult when it fogged up. The infotainment system was also very hard to use. Drop-off was quick and easy, no issues there. That said, I’ll likely avoid in the future. I’ve had better service with Enterprise at this location. One thing’s for sure—I’ll never use I Book A Car again.
Poor Compensation
We had a frustrating experience with Ibookacar. When we arrived at Alamo Car Rental at Nashville airport, we were given a car smaller than the one we booked. We reserved a five-door Nissan Versa Note (or similar), but were given a Fiat 500 with only three doors and minimal luggage space. To make it work, we had to pay an extra $220 (plus tax) for an upgrade. While Alamo might be at fault, we booked through Ibookacar, so I hold them accountable. The only compensation they offered was a 5% discount on our next rental, which I think is a poor response.
Prepaid Worked Fine Also Lacks Roadside Coverage
The rental itself went smoothly, and the pre-paid voucher was accepted without any problems. Just a heads-up—roadside assistance isn’t included in the price. Some other rental sites offer the same total cost but include roadside coverage (though they don’t allow pre-payment). Next time, I’ll choose a deal that includes it.
Easy Booking and Reliable Service
This website is great because of the wide selection of cars and competitive prices available worldwide. It’s easy to reserve and cancel bookings, and there are plenty of options to choose from. I’ve been recommending this site to my friends and family for years due to its reliability, efficiency, and convenience. Keep up the great work!
Had a disappointing experience booking through I book a car. When we arrived at the Alamo counter at Nashville airport, we were given a much smaller car than what we reserved. We had booked a five-door Nissan Versa Note (or similar) and were handed a tiny three-door Fiat 500 with barely any trunk space. We had no choice but to pay $220 (plus tax) to upgrade on the spot. Maybe Alamo played a part in this, but since the booking was through Ibookacar, I expected them to take responsibility. All they offered afterward was a 5% discount on a future rental—not exactly a meaningful resolution.
Not Valid for Domestic Rental
I am very disappointed. The offer should clearly state that it does not apply to Americans renting a car within the United States. Alamo does not honor this transaction for domestic rentals, so be aware of that. It turned into a hassle. I tried to contact ibookacar but only received a voicemail prompting me to leave a message.
