Inaccurate and Untrustworthy Service
I sent in five gold samples that I had already tested myself and verified with a second lab to ensure accuracy. Despite this, the company claimed my gold contained trace metals like zinc and copperโas if that disqualified it. But all gold alloys include secondary metals for durability. Their assessment didnโt reflect standard industry knowledge and felt intentionally misleading. Whatโs worse is that they ignored the quality of my samples and gave false information. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend doing business with them.
Unfair Price
They sent back 6 grams of 22k dental gold when the spot price was $106/gram. My offer was only $368, even with their extra 10% for new customersโthat means they took 42% of the value. On the plus side, the kit arrived fast, I mailed it back Thursday morning, EGC got it Friday morning, and I had an offer by noon. I accepted and got a deposit in my account within 30 minutes.
No Pricing Transparency
The process was fast and straightforward. I requested a mailer, got it quickly, and everything was easy to follow. I sent in my items, and the payment came fast after the offer. What I didnโt like was the lack of detail in the offer. I sent in four rings and got one lump sum with no breakdown. There was no explanation of how they calculated the valueโno info on weight, karat, or rate per gram. I would have appreciated a clear breakdown for each item so I could understand how they got to that final number.
Inconsistent Offers and Lack of Transparency
During our second transaction with Express Gold Cash, we received an offer to buy our items that we felt was too low, so we asked for them to be returned. They then asked what we were expecting to receive. I repeated my request to have the items sent back. Then, I received an email from Express Gold offering 51.5% more than their initial offer, with no explanation for the change. You can decide if this is fair business practice.
Rushed Evaluation and Disappointing Experience
I originally left a positive review, but I take it back after seeing how things were handled. I assumed my items would be properly evaluated, but the entire process from the time they arrived to when I got an offer took barely 15 minutes. Thereโs no way thatโs enough time to carefully assess everything I sent inโit was a lot. Something doesnโt feel right. These items meant a lot to me, and I expected more care and respect in the process.
I sent my kit in mid-February and am still waiting for my payment to arrive. I understand there was a delay with the mail, but I selected PayPal as my preferred payment method and provided my PayPal information. For some reason, I was told they issued and mailed me a check instead, and I still haven't received it. I'm not happy with having to wait for my payment at all when it should have been quick and easily deposited into my PayPal. Yet, I'm STILL WAITING...
Would Not Recommend
I was really disappointed with my transaction. They lowballed me and didnโt give me even half of the value. Plus, they donโt provide a breakdown of the amount, so I had no idea how much I was getting for each item. I wonโt be using Express Gold again, and for anyone considering it, I would recommend finding another place.
